Terms of service
These are the terms you agree to when you book a clean with us. They are written to be readable, and they do not take away any rights you have under UK consumer law.
Last updated: 16 August 2026
1. Who you are contracting with
Your contract is with Dorset Clean, a domestic cleaning business based in Weymouth, Dorset, contactable on 07821 743753. By confirming a booking you accept these terms.
2. Our service and hours
We clean Monday to Friday, 10am – 2pm. That window is fixed because our cleaners are on the school run afterwards. A 4-hour block therefore runs 10am to 2pm; a 2-hour visit starts at 10am, 11am or 12pm.
Your cleaner works from the task list you set, in the order you set it. We will get through as much of that list as the booked time allows — the time you book is what you are buying, not a guarantee that every task on a long list is finished within it.
We do not carry out work at height beyond ordinary reach, exterior window cleaning, hazardous waste removal, biohazard or trauma cleaning, pest control, or the lifting of heavy furniture where it is unsafe to do so.
3. Bookings and payment through Square
Bookings and payments are handled by Square Appointments and Square's payment processing. Card details are entered into Square's secure, PCI-compliant systems — we never see, handle or store your card number.
Prices are £35 per hour for a 2-hour visit and £30 per hour for a 4-hour block, per cleaner. Two cleaners means double the hourly cost for the same window. End of tenancy cleans are a fixed price quoted by property size before you book.
Payment is taken per visit, in line with the arrangement confirmed at booking. Recurring bookings are charged per visit, not as a lump sum, and there is no minimum contract or tie-in.
If a payment fails or remains unpaid, we may pause future visits until it is settled.
4. Access to your home
- You are responsible for making sure we can get in at the booked time — in person, by key, or by keysafe.
- Keys we hold are labelled by code, never with your name or address, and are signed out and returned the same day.
- If we cannot get in and cannot reach you, we treat the visit as a late cancellation and the full visit price is payable.
- Please tell us in advance about alarms, pets, building work or anything else that affects a safe clean.
5. Changes and cancellations
- Change or cancel with at least 24 hours' notice and there is no charge — we will move you to the next available slot.
- Less than 24 hours' notice, or no access on the day, and the full price of that visit is payable, because the slot cannot be re-sold and the cleaner is already committed.
- We may cancel or reschedule a visit for illness, safety or severe weather. If we do, you pay nothing for that visit and we will offer the earliest replacement slot.
- You can stop a recurring booking at any time with 24 hours' notice before the next visit.
6. Our guarantee, and refunds
We do not offer cash refunds. What we offer instead is a 24-hour put-it-right guarantee: if something in the booked task list has genuinely not been done to standard, tell us within 24 hours of the visit, and we will return and redo that work at no charge.
To use the guarantee, contact us within 24 hours and describe what is wrong — photographs help. We will agree a return visit, normally within the next few working days, in our usual 10am to 2pm window.
The guarantee covers work you booked and we did not do properly. It does not cover work that was not on the list, tasks the booked time did not allow for, or new mess made after we left.
Nothing here removes your statutory rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 our service must be carried out with reasonable care and skill; if it is not, you are entitled to have it put right and, where that is not possible, to an appropriate price reduction. This guarantee sits on top of those rights, not instead of them.
7. Your right to cancel a new booking
Because you are buying a service at a distance, you normally have 14 days to change your mind about a new arrangement. If you ask us to start cleaning within those 14 days and then cancel, you pay for the visits already carried out.
8. Damage, breakages and liability
We are fully insured. If we damage or break something while cleaning, tell us within 24 hours of the visit and we will deal with it through our insurance or repair or replace the item as appropriate.
Please put away anything irreplaceable, sentimental or extremely fragile before a visit. We cannot accept liability for items that were already damaged or unstable, for wear revealed by cleaning, for failures of appliances we were asked to use, or for damage caused by cleaning products you asked us to use against our advice.
We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise our liability for any one visit is limited to the cost of that visit plus the reasonable cost of repairing or replacing the item damaged.
9. Our cleaners
Every cleaner is DBS-checked and ID-verified before attending a job, and will show photo ID at a first visit. Please treat them courteously and provide a safe working environment; we may end a booking immediately if a cleaner is subjected to abuse, harassment or an unsafe home.
Please do not approach our cleaners to work for you privately during your arrangement with us or for six months afterwards.
10. Products and equipment
We bring our own products and equipment unless agreed otherwise. Laundry and dishwasher detergent are normally yours, so your fabrics get what you already use. If you would like us to use a specific product of yours, leave it out with a note.
11. Complaints
Call us on 07821 743753. We aim to acknowledge a complaint within one working day and to resolve it within five. If we cannot agree, you keep every right you have under UK consumer law.
12. Data protection
How we handle your personal information is set out in our privacy policy, and the storage this website uses is set out in our cookie policy.
13. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the version on this page at the time you book is the one that applies to that booking. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
